Turkish computer game designed in North East

A DOLMUS may not be a common sight on the streets of Middlesbrough. However, a game dedicated to the distinctive bus, common in Mediterranean countries, is being created on Teesside by a Turkish company.

Turkish firm Mil Yazilim set up an office in Boho One last year to take advantage of the mentoring and business support on offer. It's now working on a social game designed for the Turkish market, which allows players to drive the popular Turkish transport or even manage a fleet.

Kenan Algan, project manager at Mil Yazilim, said: "Turkey has copycat-ed a lot of foreign games in the past, such as fighting and games with dragons. It's rare to have one with a Mediterranean culture. Riding the Dolmus is a highly interactive, highly-social event people in Turkey do on a daily basis.
